Below is our free calories burned running calculator. This is a great little tool for those of you who go out jogging or running. We will all burn a different number of calories, even if we run the same distance, so the heavier you are the more calories will be burnt. As you get fitter and lose weight, the unfortunate effect is you will have to run further to burn more calories.
In the calculator below, simply enter your weight in pounds (remember there are 14 pounds to a stone for the British folks) and enter the number of miles you have run, or are thinking of running. Hit calculate and up will pop the number of calories burned and a motivational comment. Please remember this is only a guide as there are numerous factors that will affect the actual number of calories that you have burned including additional energy required to run up and down hills, the road surface etc.
If you are new to running make sure you check out our running plan for beginners which will take you through step by step and day by day a schedule to follow.
To calculate your recommended daily calories needed use our BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) calculator.
It will give you a rough idea how many calories per day you need to maintain your current weight. If you wish to lose weight your target should be: your daily allowance minus 500 kcal which will help you to lose 1 lb per week.
